A week ago it was reported that Rodney Kind had died in an accidental drowning. However, his family has yet to lay the late 47 year-old to rest. This is due to the lack of funding to compensate for his $22,000 funeral. His family released a public statement encouraging those who wish to contribute to the King family, to make a donation via a newly started memorial fund.

Although King received $3.8 million from the beating he took from LAPD officers 20 years ago, King made bad business deals and had legal issues that ate away at the money. Hiis three daughter's are trying to fund the ceremony, but need outside help.

King's funeral is expected to take place on June 30.
