Posted By: Flex · 7/18/2012 8:50:00 PM

According to reports, Ramona Scott, better known as Ms. Melodie has passed away today. Ms. Melodie was a member of hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions and ex-wife of BDP founder KRS-One. She was also the older sister of former BDP member Harmony.

Ms. Melodie's debut album, Diva was heavily produced by KRS-One and released in 1989. Her career was short lived but she will be remembered for songs such as "Live on Stage", "Hype According to Ms. Melodie", and "Wake Up". She can be seen in the film I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and also in BDP's "Self-Destruction" video, which was a response to the violence that was happening at the time of it's release.

No cause of death has been revealed at the time but the team here at Hot 97 would like to extend our condolences to the Parker family and BDP family. May Ms. Melodie rest in peace.
