The fourth of July marked the beginning of the summer grilling with endless ribs, hot dogs, hamburgers and barbecue chicken. Someone will also probably bake a pie or a cake that your doctor advised you not to have but you are going to go ahead and eat it anyway!  Summer barbecues and entertaining is envitable but does it also mean that it has to hurt your waistline?  Now that you have your fly gear ready to show off your body for the summer, let's make sure that your body stays right and healthy.  Here are some tips that may help you while enjoying the summer heat.

Turkey anyone?  Opt for turkey burgers that contain less fat.  Add fresh dark green lettuce and fresh tomatoes, and skip out on the cheese, and your body will probably thank you later.

Gone fishing - give your guests the option of grilled wild salmon, grilled shrimp or another type of grilled fish to help give other choices besides the usual ribs and hot dogs.

Try a different kind of barbecue chicken.  Why not use some chicken breast and add some veggies for a healthy alternative to the typical barbecue wings, thighs and legs?   Add some fresh peppers, fresh onions, and fresh tomatoes and put the pieces on a kebab stick for great grilled flavor.
