Facebook, taking a cue from Twitter, is launching hashtags to help users search for content on the social network.
Confirming rumors, the new feature began rolling out Wednesday and will be available to users across the board in the coming weeks, Facebook announced on its website.

“Hashtags are just the first step to help people more easily discover what others are saying about a specific topic and participate in public conversations,” the company wrote.
Many Facebook users already use hashtags — like #NBAFinals and #NewYorkCity — but they’ve never been clickable. Now, they’ll link to a feed of other people talking about the same topic — just like on other social networks, including Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr.
