Valentine's Day is tomorrow and there is an epidemic sweeping across the tri-state area, and many people have no clue, until it hits them. You may be a side chick and not even know it. However you have no need to fear, I have compiled a list of 10 ways to tell if you are indeed the side chick or wifey

Does he walk in behind or in front of you, whenever you're in public? If he does, he may just be trying to dodge the people in the street or he might not want to be seen with you, for fear of his main chick catching him out there. The last thing he wants to do is loose his chick with the good job, degree, own car, and head game like Eddie Winslow's girlfriend.

If you never seen him at 12 noon, or day light for that matter. If for some reason you only see this guy late night on weekends after he's drunk from too many shots of henny at the bar, only to have wild passionate sex. You're a side chick. If you're wifey your man is going to want to spend time with you, and that includes day time events.

If you frequent fast food joints, chicken shacks, and dark restaurants in the shady section of town, you're the side chick. 9 times out of ten it means I don't want one of wifey's friends seeing me with you, but you've been side chick so long I'm obligated to take you out sometimes.

Bootlegs instead of opening night - He says he can't stand the crowds of opening nights, and his bootleg man "got those blockbuster DVD's." You rationalize it by saying Pop Secret is cheaper than $10 buckets of popcorn, but the real secret is you're a side chick and you just been played. I take wifey out, I stay in with the side chick, it's the main rule of having a side chick.

Are you baby, boo, sweety and any other word except your real name? Chances are he probably forgot your name. Most dudes will do the do with you regardless of if they know your name or not. Some will even continue to talk to you for a month, all the while you're saved in his phone as shorty from the club with the red boots. It could be worst he could call you by your myspace name, if that's the case you're not only a side chick you're myspace jumpoff.

Friends and Family - Family is very important, and a good way to figure out if you're a side piece or wifey is if you met his family or not. If you haven't met his family you're probably a side chick. If his mother calls him almost every time you're on the phone with him, he's lying it's really his wifey calling to check up on him.

The 3rd Wheel - If whenever your girls go out, or have a gathering at their house and you're always the 3rd wheel and the only one without her man. You're a side chick. Sure he might have had to work late that night or was in the studio dropping that Dylan type hot fire, but chances are he's home with wifey.

Voice Mail - When you call your dude, does the phone constantly go to voice mail, only for him to call you right back like a minute or 2 later? That's because he had to walk out the house in order to get some privacy to talk to you. Some days he might even pick up, only to place you on hold while he walks out of the room to see what you want.

The Crib - This is very important, so pay attention. If you've never been to his house, could be because he claims he has room mates (which you never met) or you've have been to his house, and he has no furniture, only an air mattress, a six pack of Corona's, a shoe box full of magnums and maybe a Xbox 360 you just might be a side chick.

The Big Day - If he's trying to go out with you, the day before or the day after Feb 14th, or he simply stops by in his work clothes with some flowers from Pathmark, a card from Duane Reade, a bag of red M&M's and give you a kiss, gets a quickie and bounces. You might as well consider your self the side chick of the year.
