NBA Player Jason Collins Tells The World He's Gay: Twitter Reacts [Photo]
Jason Collins made a barrier breaking decision in the world of sports, becoming the first current player to admit he was gay in a major sport.
The basketball player who has played for the New Jersey Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics among others wrote a full article in Sports Illustrated, where he starts off with the quote,
"I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay."
Twitter has been on fire since the announcement with praise coming from Kobe Bryant, Bill Clinton, amongst many others from the sports and entertainment community.
Not everyone in the sports world had something positive to say as Dolphins Wide Receiver Mike Wallace made some not so welcome comments before deleting them and apologizing soon afterwards.
