Jay-Z is looking to shut down Times Square with his latest plan to give a live show on top of the Ed Sullivan Theater.

According to the New York Post, the rapper would be performing for the Late Show with David Letterman, July 8.

The report explains that the only thing holding up the plan is the approval from Mayor Bloomberg.

Their source said, “they’ll have to shut down Broadway around the Letterman building. They’ll have to have a strong police presence. It’s going to be chaos with so many fans.”

Meanwhile, you can catch huge ads promoting the release of the album all through Midtown Manhattan play throughout the day.

His album Magna Carta Holy Grail is scheduled to be released July 4 on Galaxy S3, S4, and Note owners through the Magna Carta application.
