10 Injured, 2 Killed In Shooting Near Empire State Building

                                              

 

Jeffery Johnson, former employee at Hazen Imports is now dead after firing shots and killing his former manager after being laid off from the company a day ago.He initially tried to enter the building, but was turned away from security.

From there Johnson waited until his former manager exited the building, and according to a press conference from Mayor Bloomberg the 53 year old was holding a .45 caliber handgun when he fired three shots at close range at his former co-worker outside of his former employer.

A shootout commenced shortly after shots were heard, when a construction worker, who followed the gunman told two police officers, and killed the alleged shooter.

Hazen Imports is not too far away from the Empire State Building, residing on 34th and fifth avenue.

Out of the 10 injured, no infants or elderly people were hurt.

Fifth Avenue will be closed between 34th Street and 33rd Street, and traffic is stopped from East 42nd Street while police investigate the incident today.
