If you can buy an island, why not?

Jay-Z is reportedly looking to purchase a private island located in the North Abaco region of The Bahamas so he, his wife Beyonce and their daughter Blue Ivy can do things in the peace.

According to a source close to the family, "Jay’s been looking for a private island for the family. He’s getting it partly to mark their fifth wedding anniversary but also, with Bey back in the spotlight, it’s getting impossible for them to do normal things such as go to the beach with Blue. A private island means they’ll be able to have quality time with minimum staff and security."

The source went on to say that Jay got his inspiration from Virgin billionaire Sir Richard Branson who also has his own private locale on Necker Island.

Branson turned the island into his own oasis, spending more than $10 million to make it his own. Unfortunately, Jay-Z’s island is said to have no satellite TV and bad phone signals so The Carters will be pretty much be enveloped in nature.

The island reportedly costs 2 million pound sterling, which is around $3 million U.S dollars.

How many people can say they own an island? Not many.
