MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh And More Honored At The Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball [PHOTOS]
Last night, celebrities and music artists came out to honor President Obama’s work and hip-hop’s instrumental role in his re-election.
John Legend, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill and more came out last night to the even which was originally launched by Russell Simmons.
La La Anthony and Terrence J hosted the Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball while John Legend received the Humanitarian Award, Mc Lyte and Doug E. Fresh were both given Lifetime Achievement Awards and were honored by a tribute featuring YoYo and Lil Mama while comedian Wayne Brady belted out “What’s Going On” as Doug E. Fresh beat-boxed.
G.O.O.D Music’s 2 Chainz received the Street Soldier award for being a spokesperson for the “Respect My Vote!” campaign. Actress Rosario Dawson won the Vanguard Award for her work as chairman of the Voto Latino organization.
