Bloomberg Looking To Ban Plastic Foam Products In New York City

Mayor Bloomberg is looking to put a ban on plastic foam products looking to rid a product that environmentalists are saying is harmful to the ecosystem.

Bloomberg proposed this ban on today’s State of the City address, where he wants to eliminate a product that is most commonly used in food trucks, bodegas, and restaurants.

The mayor explained his decision in his speech,

“We can live without it, we may live longer without it, and the doggie bag will survive just fine.”

City Hall is reporting that the ban will save millions of dollars in costs to recycling the product.

In the last few years New York has been taking initiative with putting on smoking bans and sugary drinks.
