E.S.P.JEN: NY Jets Cut LB's Bart Scott And Calvin Pace
The NY Jets released linebacker Bart Scott on Tuesday in order to free up salary cap space for the team.
Scott stated that he was willing to take a pay cut to his $6.9 million base salary in order to remain on the Jets, but they decided he was expendable enough to be let go.
Teams expected to consider hiring Scott include the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
Because they are releasing three linebackers soon (Jasper Brinkley, Erin Henderson and Marvin Mitchell), the Vikings may be looking to scoop up Bart.
The Chiefs had a bad season and are looking to upgrade everywhere they can, which makes Scott a valuable prospect for them.
The Jets have also cut Calvin pace.
I’m so mad they let go of Bart Scott, he was a monster on the line. A huge part of the reason why we weren't destroyed in most games last season.
