E.S.P.JEN: New York Jets Lose To Houston Texans 23-17

It was difficult to win with a team of new players signed onto the roster but the New York Jets showed heart against the best team in the league, the Houston Texans last night.

The Jets put up a great effort against the Texans amazing running plays but were unable to get the win losing 23-17. Tim Tebow played in the QB position for the first time since joining the team in the first quarter, throwing a 15 yard pass on target to newly signed WR Jason Hill but Hill let the ball slip through his hands. Tebow also ran for a first down on a fake punt before the half but from that point on stayed relatively quiet.

Mark Sanchez threw an interception with 15 seconds left before the half losing an opportunity to tie with the Texans and later threw another big interception in the red zone in the second half of the game. The ball was deflected by  J.J Watt and CB Brice McCain returned  it for 86 yards before he taken down at the 6 yard line.

Jets fans held onto their breath as Gang  Green stood a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter after Nicki Folk kicked a 21 yard field goal to bring the score to 23-17. But that hope was diffused when Sanchez again threw a ball that was picked off by Kareem Jackson at 1:51 seconds left in the game. Sanchez overall had 12 completions for the game but he only averaged 17 yards per completion. It was a tough loss but in all honesty, the Texans just played better.

But regardless of how the game turned out, the Jets showed a lot of determination for a team that pretty much signed new players to their roster two weeks ago. To be only 6 points behind the best team in the league right now shows a lot of hope for the Jets who are still trying to find their identity as a team after the unexpected loss of Darelle Revis and Santanio Holmes. But the question is, how deep can they go this season with just “hope“ because  eventually they will need to deliver .

I have faith in them though! We may not make it to the Superbowl but we can make a strong run in the playoffs!
