The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Ad Council launched a new national public service advertising campaign, "Questions are the Answer," designed to encourage consumers to become more involved in their medical decision making by asking questions of their clinicians.

Patients who are active participants in their health care and who communicate effectively with their doctors and other clinicians can have a positive impact on preventing medical errors and improving the safety and quality of their health care.
