In breaking news, Yankees legendary reliever Mariano Rivera told sources he will officially announce his retirement on Saturday.
He will make his announcement in a press conference (Saturday morning) at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL before pitching in his first exhibition game against the Atlanta Braves.
Mo, 43, is coming back off a torn ACL surgery he suffered during flagging fly balls in the outfield after only nine appearances last season.
Rivera will go down in MLB history as “the greatest closer ever”, collecting a record 608 saves and posting an amazing 0.70 ERA in 96 career post-season appearances.
