Via Chris Chase USAToday:
Just when you thought the story of Kevin Ware, the Louisville guard who suffered a catastrophic injury and inspired the nation with his courage in light of tragedy, couldn’t get any more uplifting, here’s something else to give you chills: He got a dog to help him through his recovery and named it, appropriately, Scar.
“Welcome Scar to the Ware Family! We named him Scar to represent my struggle, and the “scar” that will be left on my leg after the healing process.”
Ware is moving around on crutches after his Sunday injury. He has spent the past 48 hours in a Louisville hospital, receiving medical attention, getting visits from his coaches and teammates, receiving calls from famous athletes and tweeting with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Lil Wayne, Carmelo Anthony, Otto Porter, Rajon Rondo, Metta World Peace and Jay Bilas, among others.
With a positive outlook, top-notch medical attention and support from all avenues (including Kentucky fans), Ware should be back on his feet playing with Scar in a few months. thats great news!
