Mother Of "Baby Hope" Speaks Out For The First Time: "We Are Never Going To Have Peace" [VIDEO]
It's been 22 years since the disappearance of the little girl better known as "Baby Hope," whose real name Anjelica Castillo has just been discovered. The child's mother, Margarita Castillo, spoke out from behind her apartment door in Elmhurst, Queens for the first time ever to speak out publicly about her daughter's death.
Margarita Castillo told the reporters in Spanish, “I want to thank the people who praying for my daughter. We are never going to have peace. We are just waiting for justice."
According to police officials, Anjelica Castillo was sexually assaulted, smothered and stuffed inside a cooler. The little girl's body was dumped along the Henry Hudson Parkway on July 24th in 1991. The little girl's cousin, 52-year-old Conrado Juarez, came forward and confessed to killing the girl. However, until recently nobody from her family ever came out to publicly mourn for her or even identify her body, leaving the police at a loss for tips.
Juarez was charged with felony murder this past Saturday. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to custody.
Nobody has a valid reason as to why "Baby Hope's" mother never reported her daughter missing. However, we send our condolences to the family and hope they can get through this rough time.
