Looks like BET and its parent company Viacom have ran into a little bit of legal drama, stemming from a shooting that occurred at a BET Awards after party back in 2011.
According to reports, victim Antwon Black was shot at a BET Awards after party he attended in Atlanta, GA at famous hotspot, Compound Nightclub. In new lawsuit filed by claimant, Black claims that Viacom is responsible due to the fact that there was a breach in security. Black states that on October 2nd, 2011 the club made a fatal mistake when security allowed one of its frequent patrons through security without checking for weapons -- that patron ended up shooting Black in his left leg.
Black is now suing and looking for a large payout for Viacom's inability to keep patrons safe. BET had made no comment as of yet.
What do you think? Is Black justified in wanting a pay out for the club's negligence?
