Seems like every time you turn your head there is a new video game movie popping up. Silent Hill is about to make its big screen debut. But most of the video game movies have been pretty crapy. BloodRayne was just unbareable to watch. The acting, the costumes, everything about it was just all wrong. So with all these video game movies why hasn’t anyone given the go on a urban video game movie? So here is my list of urban video games that could work as a movie.
1. Def Jam Vendetta - All your favorite rappers in a movie kicking each others asses. That’s worth $10.50 for the admission. I’d love to see Kimora Lee and Lil’ Kim beating each other down. They could throw in 50 Cent and settle all that rap beef in one movie.
2. Getting Up - MTV has already grabbed this one up. But I think it would be a great movie. Talib, graffitti artist, and slammin’ hip-hop music it’s a sure winner. I’m sure the movie exec’s over at MTV see the money pouring all over this.
3. Urban Chaos - Yeah I’m taking it back to the Dreamcast. This was a game that a lot of people slept on. But we could get Halle Berry to play rookie cop D’arci Stern and give her sexy looks and fight crime. But she wouldn’t have to wear a leather outfit and read from a horrible script.
4. True Crime: Streets of New York - This one has Westley Snipes written all over it. Now that there won’t be to any more Blade movies he can move on to another character. Snipes would be perfect to play Marcus Reed, a rogue street cop who was once a criminal himself.
5. Fight Night - I see Omar Epps playing a new comer boxer and working his way up the ranks and winning the big fight against a legend. We’d throw in Megan Goode as the resident hottie for the movie.
6. NBA Ballers - The bling bling of the Basketball world on the big screen spells instant box office success. They could show the hot sexy women, the fast cars, and the over-the-top houses. They could throw all the wannabee actor NBA players in the movie and throw in Terrence Howard just to give a bit more acting cred.
What video games would you like to see made into movies?
