Cee Lo to Perform at Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Representatives for Michael Jackson's family have revealed that they will finally be announcing the lineup for the late King of Pop's highly anticipated tribute concert in an interview with CNN later today. The Jackson family have promised a star-studded list of performers for the Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert, being held in Cardiff, Wales, October 8, however, signing the acts took longer than expected.

TMZ cites a source connected to the concert, who claims that Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars are among the artists who have respectfully declined the invitation to perform, due to "scheduling conflicts." Christina Aguilera and Kanye West, however, are reportedly "leaning towards 'Yes,'" while Cee Lo Green has committed to perform without hesitation, according to their source. The list of invited stars who have to yet to respond includes Jay-Z and Usher.

"Fans of Michael's music will get the concert they've been waiting for," revealed Chris Hunt, head of the promotions company that is organizing the event. "Some of the greatest names in music are already signed, and more are trying to shuffle other commitments to come on board."

Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson, called the tribute concert "a show fit for a king," at a special news conference for the event, held on July 25. "If my son were here today, he would feel the same way," she continued. However, the tribute has caused yet another rift between the members of the family, as two of the five Jackson brothers, Jermaine and Randy, have objected to the timing of the event.

"We want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family," Jermaine and Randy said in a joint statement. "While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death."

The involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, begins in September, and is expected to extend through October.
