The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is OFFICIALLY coming back, but with a TWIST!

Last year, Director Morgan Cooper debuted a trailer for a film called Bel-Air. This reimagined version of the classic show took a dramatic turn in the storyline. In the trailer, Will is caught with a gun after getting into an altercation at the basketball court with another crew in Philadelphia.

It’s a 2019 take on the popular show which has the basic plotline you see in the original intro, but instead, Will is caught with a gun after getting into an altercation at the basketball court with another crew in Philadelphia.

The viral clip caught Will Smith’s attention, and Will stepped in to make this project come to life. Will’s company, Westbrook Studios is a co-producer. Will and Morgan are also directors.

In the latest report, Bel-Air will have a home on Peacock for two seasons, Shadow And Act report. Will made an official announcement on his YouTube and said this rarely ever happens.

“We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch,. I’ve been in this business for thirty years and that does not happen. They ordered two full seasons of Bel-Air based on the quality of the pitch and the work that you guys have done. So I want to say congratulations. I am hyped.”

The article also points out that Bel-Air will also focus on what it’s like being a black man in America. We’ll keep you updated on release dates!
