Long Hair, Don't Care: Meet the Black Rapunzel
Asha Mandela's hair is long...super, duper long. It measures 55 feet long and weighs 39lbs. Her lengthy locks have earned her the Guinness World Record for the globe's longest dreadlocks.
Doctors are reportedly saying that the weight of Asha's hair has caused a curvature in her spine, and the back of her neck has begun to collapse. If Asha doesn't trim those dreadlocks soon, she could be paralyzed.
But the 50-year-old mother, who lives in Florida, refuses to cut her hair.
Asha insists that her hairstyle comes with certain advantages. "A lot of men out there are crazy for women with long hair," she has said. "My hair has never posed a problem with intimacy, I think it adds a little spice onto it."
It's amazing that Asha has grown her hair so long over such an extended period of time. As a matter of fact, we at Mane Majesty are advocates for healthy hair. But paralysis? C'mon sister!! Maybe she will consider just a little trim off the ends....
