Drake dropped If You're Reading This It's Too Late out of nowhere. It landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts selling 495,000 copies in the first 3 days. The album also broke Spotify's first-week streaming record with over 17.3 million streams in the first three days. Drake wins.
Kendrick Lamar 'To Pimp A Butterfly'...
Kendrick Lamar turned the hip hop world on it's ears when he released this masterpiece. To Pimp A Butterfly landed at #1 on Billboard 200 and went on to earn 11 Grammy nominations, a record for a hip hop artist.

Kanye West accepted his MTV Video Vanguard with a speech that left people saying HUH?! Awkward pauses, long rants, it all ended with him announcing that he will run for President in 2020.

Adele returns. Her album 25 made music history selling a staggering 3.38 million copies in the first week of release. The record was previously held by N’SYNC with No Strings Attached which sold 2,416,000 in it’s first week. 25 has already sold 7.13 million copies in the U.S.

Until then, we've last heard of Dre with 2001 . Unfortunately it also killed our dreams of ever hearing a Detox album.
