Today marks a momentous occasion in American history.  Rosa Parks who is credited with starting the Montgomery Alabama Bus Boycott was honored for her courageous actions.  Because of her bravery, many blacks opted to walk instead of using a bus system where they were routinely degraded by being forced to stand or sit at the back of the bus in order to accomodate white riders.  The Boycott resulted in the United States Supreme Court decision that declared the Alabama and Montgomery laws requiring segregated buses to be unconstitutional.  The White House paid respect to her legacy today through a ceremony where they unveiled her statue which now resides permanently in the U.S. Capitol.
