Pro BMX Rider Nigel Sylvester came by Ebro In The Morning to speak on getting hate from other BMX riders and the ESPN Body Issue.
Nigel Sylvester, 26, was recently featured modeling in the ESPN Body Issue, which highlights athlete’s bodies naked while playing the sport that they play. That means that Nigel was riding his bike naked, but he requested that there weren’t any extra people on set to feel more comfortable. “It took a lot so I wanted to share that,” said Nigel, who has been riding for 14 years.
According to Nigel, who is from Queens, when he was first riding he got made fun of for biking so now he feels a responsibility to represent BMXing for kids in the hood. Now he’s gotten to work with idols that were representing for him, such as Pharrell, with whom he owns the Brooklyn Machine Works bike company. As part of that representation, Nigel started the Pyradice crew and shouted out Ralphie Ramos, Donovan Howard, and Mel Williams, all up and coming NYC riders, during the interview.
