The mother of Philando Castile has reached a settlement with the city of Minnesota.

Following a not guilty verdict for police officer Jeronimo Yanez after facing trial for one count of felony second-degree manslaughter and two felony counts of intentional discharge of a dangerous weapon, the city has agreed to a $2.995 million settlement with Castile’s mother Valerie.

As part of the settlement she will not take them to court in a wrongful death lawsuit.

Back in July 2016, Castille was in the passenger seat before being shot by Yanez as he reached for his ID in the glove compartment. He had told the officer he was a carrier of a gun before reaching into the compartment before getting shot. His girlfriend Diamond Reynolds livestreamed the aftermath on Facebook Live.

New video has been released after the trial that shows the entire interaction.
