Beyoncé hit the stage Saturday night (Apr 14), to an electric set filled with drumline's, reunions, and lots and lots of dancing!
One year after her original plans to perform at the festival, she declared her return with a performance fans will be talking about for a long time.
While she declares her return in a big way, one can only wonder is she this generation's Michael Jackson? An artist people can look up to as the highest standard of both singing, dancing, and full performance.
To many, Jackson is the greatest of all time. His classic album Thriller is the best of all time, selling 66 million copies worldwide. His other albums are just as successful, as he has sold over 350 million records during his lifetime. He has also won 13 Grammy Awards, 24 American Music Awards, and is known as one of the top performances of all time.
His shows would be filled with non-stop dancing, fans fainting all over the place, and a thunderous roar just as Jackson stands still for five minutes. Considered the King of Pop, his fans got a chance to grow up with him as he recorded hit after hit as a member of the Jackson 5 until his untimely passing.
Beyoncé broke through the scene as a member of Destiny's Child in 1997. She has sold 100 million worldwide. She has also won 22 Grammy Awards, multiple awards and is one of the most, if not the most influential artist today.
Both artists headlined massive shows and are household names. Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" can be heard throughout all kinds of cultures, ages, and race. As Sunday's show showed, she not only has hit songs, she legitimacy has anthems.
