Hurricane Harvey now downgraded to a tropical storm pummeled throught the city of Houston overnight dropping an unprecedented 24 inches of rain in just a day.

Emergency workers cannot get to the city due to the amount of rain that’s devastated the city. Residents are fleeing their homes as their towns are flooded and the National Weather reports that the rain will continue for another 4 or 5 days, leaving the city in 50 inches of water when all is said and done.

According to Brock Long, the director of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) "FEMA is going to be there (Houston) for years," in regards to the amount of time it’s going to take for the city to recover.

This is the biggest natural disaster to hit the U.S since Hurricane Katrina reeked havoc on New Orleans which the city never fully recovered from.
