Gabrielle Union talks Being Mary Jane, Issa Rae, Black Movies Being Marginalized & Equal Pay [VIDEO]

Back in 2013, BET aired a television movie that worked as a pilot named Being Mary Jane debuted on the network.

Gabrielle Union's role as television news anchor and journalist Mary Jane Paul is gearing up for their forth season.

Hours before the premiere, Union stepped up to Ebro in the Morning to discuss everything from the show, to "Black Hollywood," and Sunday's Golden Globes.

One of the biggest moments of the night was when a journalist mistakingly mixed up Hidden Figures and Fences to call it "Hidden Fences."

She recalled a time an agent mistook her for actress Sanaa Lathan.

"I just gotta say I loved you in 'Outta Time.' And i said well that's not me, that's Sanaa Lathan, but I will let her know how much you love her work and I promptly left."

Lathan also discussed important topics such as social media bullying, equal pay, as well as her relationship with Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade.

Gabrielle Union is co-starring in the film Sleepless alongside Jamie Foxx. That opens up in theaters on Friday.

Dave East is guest starring in the season 4 premiere of Being Mary Jane at 10 p.m. on BET.
