Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind Talk Chuck D Beef + New Platform ADD52 [VIDEO]
Hip-hop legends Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind stopped the by The HOT97 Morning Show to talk about their new digital platform, “All-Def Digital 52”, featuring Rifkin’s group “Love Dollhouse”, and Chuck D’s beef with HOT97.
Russell and Rifkind are launching a digital platform that allows fans to curate music that they enjoy in order to help artists develop better marketing plans and get on the radio. The platform will release a single every week, which is the “52” part of “ADD52”, for 52 weeks in a year. The first group to be featured on the platform is “Love Dollhouse” a trio of talented female vocalists from Detroit who spoke with Ebro about life as young stars on the rise.
Simmons also touched on Chuck D’s beef with Hot97. Simmons said that although Chuck D’s voice is important, the radio shouldn’t censor or set an agenda for artists. Check out the full interview:
