HOT 97's On Da Reggae Tip is the ultimate kick off to the Labor Day weekend. Year after year the concert, hosted by HOT 97’s and Massive B’s own Bobby Konders and Jabba boasts of a super star reggae and dancehall lineup. This year, heavyweights, Beenie Man, Mr. Vegas, Bounty Killer, Serani, Mavado, and Elephant Man all joined the festivities at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

New artist Dynasty, hailing from East New York opened the show. Jamaican duo, RDX performed their hits “Bend Over” and “Dancer’s Anthem”. T.O.K. sporting matching black and white track suits and performed their hit “Footprints”.

Mr. Vegas dressed in all white performed all his hits, like “Murder She Wrote”, “Hot Wuk” and “Tek For Yourself” but it was “Heads High” that got the entire audience on their feet. After his set, Vegas chilled with the audience and looked on as surprise guest D-Block’s own Styles P performed “I Get High” and “We Gonna Make It”. Uptown’s own DJ Webstar and Jim Jones also made guest appearances, briefly performing their hit single, “Pop Champagne”.

"It’s it’s Serani...!" The Jamaican crowd favorite was greeted by the sound of roaring fans. Serani performed club bangers, “No Games” and “She Loves Me”. Mavado and Bounty Killer performed their repertoire of hits. Spice dressed in all blue performed some amazing dance moves while she sang her radio hit, “Romping Shop”. Both Beenie Man and Elephant Man paid homage to the late Michael Jackson, whose music has touched all genres, including Dancehall. Elephant Man brought out his young accomplice to the stage, who showed off his moves while dancing to “Billie Jean”. The “Energy God” also did his classic routine, bringing up two voluptuous ladies to the stage. The ladies leaped across the stage aiming for both Ele and HOT 97’s Mister Cee. Cee wasn’t so lucky when the woman came his way, and they both landed on the floor!

Just when everyone thought the show was over, Number one hit maker Shaggy briefly hit the stage officially starting off the holiday weekend.
