Right after kickoff, a fan fell to his death at the 49ers vs. Packers game in San Francisco.

The fan fell from an elevated pedestrian walkway at Candlestick Park on Sunday.

Near by witnesses say that before the man hit the sidewalk he was intoxicated. Off duty medics and officers rushed to the man for first aid until an ambulance came but due to his injuries he was pronounced dead.

No name has been released and the man appeared to be in his 30s, according to police spokesperson Gordon Shyy.

The stadium plans to close and be replaced by a shopping center, and the team will have to play in a $1.2 billion stadium at the team's Silicon Valley headquarters in Santa Clara.

According to The Institute for the Study of Sports Incidents, since 2003. there has been more than two dozen cases of fans falling in stadiums across the country.

Last month in Denver, a Bronco fan suffered injuries from falling and recently in Atlanta, a fan died after an 85 feet fall.

You have to be careful when attending these games, especially if you're going to be drunk. Please be careful.
