Chicago Cubs Have A "Serious Interest" In Yankees Manager Joe Girardi

The Chicago Cubs have made headlines with the recent firing of their manager, Dale Sveum and they're looking for a replacement.

It is being reported that they have a "serious interest" in the Yankees' current manager, Joe Girardi.

Girardi's contract with the Yankees is up on October 31st, but the team is doing everything in their power to make sure that he doesn't sign with anyone else. The Cubs are looking to be the team that can pull Girardi away.

Joe Girardi is a native of Illinois, attended Northwestern and went on to be drafted by the Cubs in 1989. He played for them until '92, and had a second stint with the team from 2000 to 2002. However, as a Yankee, he won three World Series titles, and lead the team to a championship as its manager back in 2009.

Do you think the Cubs have a shot at Joe Girardi?
