The search is over NY Knicks fans. For a while now, we all wondered who would take over the head coaching job since Coach Mike Woodson's departure and may now have our answer.

Many names have been brought up in the mix but now it looks like Phil Jackson and the Knicks organization finally have their guy.

According to Howard Beck at Bleacher Report, 18 year NBA veteran, Derek Fisher, will accept the offer and become the Knicks new head coach:

It's being reported that Fisher was Phil Jackson's top choice after Steve Kerr opted to coach for the Golden State Warriors. Jackson reportedly waited until Fisher's season with OKC was official done to pursue it even further.

According to Yahoo Sports, Fisher will sign a 5-year deal for $25 million deal.

Fisher has been in the league for 18 years, has won 5 championships during his time with the Lakers, and knows the Jackson style of play better than anyone. The fit seems right but will it translate onto the court with the current Knicks' roster?
