The HOT 97 Summer Jam Festival is the official and the largest Summer Jam pre-event. Every year over 15,000 fans show up early to visit HOT 97 Summer Jam sponsor booths, get autographs with HOT 97 jocks and catch the live performances of the hottest up and coming artists and to check out the BOOST Mobile MC Battle Finals.

Every year, HOT 97 gives aspiring artists the chance to shine on the festival stage.

Last year, newcomers 18E, F.L.Y. and Dez’o, opened the show. Asher Roth, who was named one of the XXL's top 10 rappers to watch for in 2009, performed his hit songs I Love College and Lark on My Go Kart.  Harlem’s own DJ Webstar and Ron Browz performed their smash hits Dancing on Me and Jumping Out the Window. The GS Boyz had the entire audience doing the Stanky Leg.

HOT 97 and Boost Mobile host several MC battles throughout the tri-state  to carefully select 12 finalists to compete for the crown.  There will be fierce competition and the hungry emcees will fight hard, but in the end the rightful winner will emerge victorious. Last year’s winner, Kosha, was awarded the coveted single record deal from Buckshot of Duck Down Records.

The HOT 97 Summer Jam 2011 Festival is the precursor to what will be an epic night. Winners of the competitions will be given FRONT ROW TICKETS to the show hoping one day, they too, would be performing on the HOT 97 Summer Jam stage.

The Festival starts right before the gates open for the HOT 97 Summer Jam main stage event, so make sure to get there EARLY!  You must have a ticket to HOT 97 Summer Jam Main Event in order to attend the Festival.
