The HOT 97 Morning Show

Since news broke of the blockbuster trade that sent Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets, it’s clear that the Eastern Conference just got me interesting and more challenging and no one knows that more than Carmelo Anthony.

According to the New York Post, Melo wanted the Knicks to go after Boston’s point guard Rajon Rondo and believed that it was going to happen when the trade disassembled the Celtics. Instead, they renewed deals with J.R Smith, Pablo Prigioni , and added Andrea Bargnani to the team.

Although the Knicks already have PG Raymond Felton, adding Rondo would be a tremendous help when going against the Nets and improve the Knicks in the long run.

Rondo is a master at distributing the ball and great at scoring, shooting 48 percent from the field last season compared to Felton’s 43 percent. However, Melo would have to be willing to take a step back and allow Rondo to take over the offense and we know what happens when Melo gets the ball….no one is on the team.

Who do you think would be a better fit or better in general for the Knicks?
