Mac Miller + Lord Finesse Reach A Settlement In The $10 Million Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Last summer, Mac Miller was accused of copyright infringement by the legendary hip hop producer Lord Finesse.

Finesse wished to sue Mac Miller for $10,000,000 for using a sample from Finesse’s “Hip 2 Da Game” on his own track, "Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza (The Kool Aid Song)" without Finesse’s consent. Court records indicate that the issue was handled at a settlement conference on December 6, 2012. The process is confidential between the judge and involved parties, and no details have been released.

Now Mac can move on and continue to make great music, hopefully he sees how sampling can bite him in the butt, especially if you’ve made it.
