E.S.P.JEN: Teen Tennis Star Upsets Serena Williams At Australian Open QuarterFinal

Nineteen year-old professional tennis player Sloane Stephens acquired worldwide recognition after her triumph over Serena Williams at the Australian Open tournament.

The match was concluded 3-6, 7-5, 6-4, with Stephens coming out as he victor. In the first set, Serena consistently out played Sloane, but Stephens came back with a vengeance in the second set. Stephens served the third set and Williams was unable to finish her off.

Post-game, Williams informed reporters that she suffered a back injury prior to the game, "A few days ago (my back) got really tight and I had no rotation on it and I went for this drop shot in the second set and it locked up on it, and I couldn't really rotate after that."

Stephens held her ground during the second set so well that Williams became frustrated and totaled her racket. She will now advance to the Australian Open Semi-Finals.

Stephens, a talented teenager, has a bright future ahead of her. Strength does run in her family, her father, John Stephens, was the 1988 NFL Offensive Rookie of The Year
