Grenande Scare Holds Up 42nd Street MTA Trains

Yesterday the New York MTA had a bit of a scare due to the fact that a Chinese lantern was mistaken for a grenade. The Chinese Lantern was seen on a platform in Times Square for 1 hour. The conductors took precaution and made sure all trains running on the A,E, and C line went right past the stations stop. The NYPD Bomb Squad was called to check out the“suspicious package”. The Chinese lantern that was mistaken for a hand grenade was on northbound C-train tracks at approximately 1:30 p.m. according to police .Trains running over that line were demanded to bypass the station until around 2:30 when police gave the okay. What a big relief !
