Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" Debuts At #1 And Sells Close To A Million Records
Justin Timberlake didn’t quite make it a million but he was close enough!
The numbers for JT’s third studio album The 20/20 Experience were officially released and according to SoundScan, it has the blue-eyed soul singer coming in at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 968,000 copies sold.
The monster album was projected to move only 500,000 units but has pleasantly exceeded everyone’s expectations. JT has another accomplishment under his belt to add to his many -- he now has the third highest-selling debut week for a male singer of all time behind Usher’s Confessions and Garth Brooks’ Double Live.
His previous albums Justified debuted at number 2 on the charts selling 439,000 copies and Future Sex/Love Sounds came in at number 1 with 684,000 copies sold.
JT's former group N’SYNC holds the record for most albums sold in a week with their release of No Strings Attached back in 2000 which sold 2.42 million copies in the first week of release.
And this line is so cliche but so appropriate right now that I must say it, "men lie, women lie, numbers don't." Congrats!
