Surviving Boston Bomber Says They Planned On Attacking Times Square

The Boston bombers not only had their eye on the Boston Marathon, but also Times Square.

It was announced on Thursday, that the Boston Marathon Bombers had plans to target the tourist friendly and busy area of Times Square in New York City. Dzokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving suspect revealed this information to investigators.

NBC News reports Dzokhar and his brother Tsarnaev had plans to head to New York City to “party” but their plans changed.

During a press conference, Mayor Michael Bloomberg addressed the new information, "The surviving attacker revealed that New York City was next on their list of targets, We don't know if we would have been able to stop the terrorists if they arrived here from Boston. We're just thankful we didn't have to find out that answer."

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly revealed to the public that the Tsarnaev brothers had the intention to set off five powerful pipe bombs. The plans soon changed after they shot and killed an officer on the MIT campus.

The 26 year old officer, Sean A. Collier death led to police finding the brothers who caused the bombing.

According to Drew Wade, spokesman for the U.S Marshalls, Dzokhar Tsarnaev has been transported from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he was recovering from neck and bound wounds to the Bureau of Prisons facility FMC Devens at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts prison.
