Three Friends Of Surviving Boston Bomber Tampered With Evidence
Boston Police took three suspects into custody in relation to the Boston Marathon bombings.
Three friends of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving suspect who was captured while hiding in a boat, have been caught attempting to cover up his tracks.
Azamat Tazhayakov, Robel Phillipos and Dias Kadyrbayev are believed to have gotten rid of fireworks and other items belonging to Tsarnaev that were his backpack.
According to a criminal complaint, the suspects are accused of “knowingly destroying, concealing and covering up objects belonging to (Tsarnaev), namely a backpack containing fireworks.” Robel Phillipos was specifically charged for lying to authorities and covering up for Tsarnaev.
All of the suspects met Tsarnaev at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth back in 2011. Tazhayakov, Kadyrbayev and Phillipos are all college students that agreed to hide Tsarnaev in their dorm room. It was revealed to the public a basic time line of events hours before Tsarnavs’ injury and the killing of his brother.
According to CNN, after the Tsarnaevs brothers were identified by the feds and later that night both Dias Kadyrbayev and Tsarnaev texted each other speaking of the suspect of the Boston bombing looking familiar. Then according to court papers,Tsarnaev texted back “LOL," then said, "You better not text me. . . . Come to my room and take whatever you want.”
According to Prosecutors the three suspects visited Tsarnaev’s residence in room 7341 at Pine Dale Hall. The suspects noticed a backpack filled with gunpowder and firework shells.
“Kadyrbayev decided to remove the backpack from the room in order to help his friend Tsarnaev avoid trouble,” says local papers.
Kadyrbayev took Tsarnaev’s laptop and grabbed a bottle of Vaseline which was believed to help create the bomb. The three agreed to discard the backpack and other belonging into the trash says the court papers.
