The YSL RICO case continues to unravel with new revelations, the latest involving YSL Woody’s shocking testimony. On August 12th, Woody confessed in court that he had misled the police about Young Thug’s involvement in criminal activities.
Woody revealed, “This is what happened. The police kept locking me up for whatever they could. Every time I come out the door, the police was on me, and they keep bringing up Thug’s name. So what I did was to get ’em off me, I said, ‘Thug did this. Thug did that. Thug,’ because I knew they were—I knew he didn’t do it.” Woody admitted that he never thought the police would actually charge Young Thug due to his high profile. “In my mind, I knew that the police would never go mess with him [Young Thug],” he said. “So it was easy for me to try to throw the blame off on him, to get them off of me. And that’s what I was doing from all these years.”
Woody also spoke about how the authorities frequently mentioned Young Thug during their interrogations. “They keep talking about ‘Thug, Thug, Thug, Thug, Thug,’” he said. “So guess what I’m going to tell them? ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah.’ What else you want me to tell them? Yeah. He killed this person. Yeah, he did that. That’s what I’m going to do.” Furthermore, Woody claimed that the prosecution coerced him into testifying, despite knowing he wasn’t being truthful.
Meanwhile, outside the courtroom drama, Young Thug has been making headlines with his music. He recently teamed up with Drake and 21 Savage on the track “It’s Up,” marking his first collaboration with Drake in over a year. This track also follows his second 2024 collaboration with 21 Savage, “Pop Ur Sh*t,” from his album *American Dream*.
