Treach may not be an expert on 2Pac’s murder trial, but his loyalty to the late rap icon remains unwavering.
The Naughty By Nature frontman was in Hollywood this week with longtime friend OG Kobra of Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. when he spoke with TMZ Hip Hop about the latest delay in the case. Keefe D’s trial, originally scheduled for March, has now been pushed to 2026, extending the wait for justice.
While Treach admits he’s no legal expert, he fully supports whatever path brings closure to Tupac’s family. His bond with Pac ran deep. It was Tupac who first introduced Treach to Hollywood, a connection that lives on today. He’s currently in L.A. starring in the stage adaptation of Jason’s Lyric alongside Allen Payne and Eva Marcille. Reprising his role as Alonzo, Treach promises an electrifying performance that brings fresh energy to the classic story.
Tupac’s legacy continues to shine. Hundreds gathered to celebrate his Hollywood Walk of Fame star, including Treach and former Death Row singer Danny Boy. The Hip Hop Hooray rapper reflected on their friendship, recalling how Pac accomplished more in 25 years than most do in a lifetime.
Treach also weighed in on Pac’s likely reaction to his portrayal of Nino Brown in New Jack City: Live on Stage. With a knowing smirk, he suggested that Pac would have seen shades of himself in the performance. After all, Tupac’s unforgettable turn as Bishop in Juice carried echoes of Nino’s ruthless energy.
The celebration of Tupac’s life isn’t slowing down. Former Death Row producers like LA Buck shared stories of legendary studio sessions, keeping Pac’s memory alive. With his birthday approaching and Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary on the horizon, expect even more tributes to a legend gone too soon.
