Gabrielle Union is opening up about a life-altering moment of friendship and support that she credits to fellow actress Tisha Campbell.

During a recent appearance on The Black Girl Bravado Podcast, Union shared a powerful story about how Campbell helped her during one of the darkest periods of her life. While she didn’t go into explicit detail about the circumstances, Union revealed that Campbell stepped in at a critical moment and offered the kind of help that ultimately saved her life.

“I will always give Tisha her flowers,” Union said emotionally. “There was a time when I didn’t know how I was going to make it through. She saw me—really saw me—and she acted. That kind of love and care is rare.”

Union praised Campbell for not only being present but also taking decisive action when it mattered most. “She didn’t just check in—she showed up, and she stayed. She reminded me that I was worthy of love, of support, and of being here.”

The Being Mary Jane star said the experience taught her the true meaning of sisterhood and left a permanent impact on her. “It’s one thing to have friends you party with, but it’s another to have someone who shows up when your life is on the line.”
