A weekend encounter outside a Long Island nightclub has left photographer Isaa Mansoor hospitalized and singer Trey Songz at the center of fresh controversy. The incident unfolded after Songz performed at The Ivy in Huntington, where he allegedly struck Mansoor in the head and shoved him against a wall—an altercation that reportedly left the photographer with a concussion and two damaged cameras. Mansoor was admitted to a local hospital following the alleged assault.
As of now, Songz has not made a public statement. His attorney, Ted Anastasiou, however, has pushed back strongly against how the incident is being portrayed. In a statement to TMZ, Anastasiou criticized the media’s coverage, saying, “Lazy and unfair clickbait journalism has unfortunately replaced honest reporting.” He pointed to the aggressive behavior of paparazzi as a growing threat to artists’ safety and added that Songz is “cooperating fully with law enforcement,” confident that the facts will eventually outweigh speculation.
Trey Songz Involved in Series of Reported Public Disputes
The confrontation is not the first time Songz—whose real name is Tremaine Neverson—has drawn scrutiny for combative encounters. Last month, the artist made headlines after a video surfaced showing him shouting at a man who reportedly declined to shake his hand. Onlookers recalled him saying, “I’ll beat the sh*t out of you right now,” as tensions nearly escalated into violence.
Boxing champion Terence Crawford also recounted a run-in with Songz during a celebrity basketball event hosted by 50 Cent. During an appearance on Club Shay Shay, Crawford said a disagreement over a bet nearly turned physical. “Trey Songz was just having a moment. Is he serious or is he playing? I was waiting to go ‘I’m just playing with you.’ I wasn’t gonna punch him, I was gonna choke him.” According to Crawford, the altercation was diffused when 50 Cent stepped in. As the latest incident draws attention, it joins a series of past encounters that have prompted continued public scrutiny of how Songz handles high-pressure situations.
