In a gesture that has resonated widely online, Drake and streamer Adin Ross have offered to pay for the funeral of Jean Pormanove, a French content creator who died during a live broadcast at the age of 46. Pormanove was in the middle of a grueling 10-day streaming marathon when he passed away in his sleep, according to fellow streamer Owen Cenazandotti. Best known for his controversial content, which often leaned on themes of humiliation and abuse, his sudden death has unsettled the digital community he helped shape.

Ross, visibly shaken, shared his reaction on X, formerly Twitter. “This is horrible and disgusting. Those responsible should face serious consequences. I just spoke with Drake. We will handle the funeral costs; while this won’t bring him back, it’s the least we can do. My thoughts are with Jean’s family.” His message struck a chord with fans and critics alike, spurring debate about the pressures of nonstop content creation and the role platforms play in protecting streamers.

The fatal broadcast occurred on a Monday evening, with Pormanove’s stream still running as efforts to revive him failed. The feed was eventually cut, leaving many of his viewers in shock. Cenazandotti, who had collaborated with Pormanove for years, later posted an emotional tribute on Instagram. “My brother, my sidekick, my partner, six years together without ever parting. I love you, my brother, and we will miss you profoundly,” he wrote, while urging people not to share footage of the stream’s final moments.

Drake’s “Iceman” Approaches

Even as he joins Ross in honoring Pormanove, Drake is putting the finishing touches on his ninth studio album, Iceman. While no release date has been announced, speculation points to a fall debut. Former Texas A&M football star Johnny Manziel fueled the rumors in a recent interview, hinting, “Soon, likely towards the end of October, possibly early November. My birthday is coming up. After that, I’m heading back to Texas, and I plan to take him to a game this year. He’s going to Aggie Land,” according to HipHopDX.

Momentum for the project is already building. Drake released “What Did I Miss?” on July 5, followed by “Which One,” a collaboration with Central Cee, on July 25. Together, the singles have only intensified anticipation for an album poised to dominate both charts and cultural conversation.
