At the Amazon Music premiere of Teyana Taylor’s visual album “Escape Room,” actor Aaron Pierre offered high praise for the singer, director, and producer.

Speaking with filmmaker Lena Waithe during a panel, Pierre described Taylor as an artist with unmatched vision and creativity. AllHipHop reported on Aaron’s tips and tricks on Monday (August 25).

“For me, it was always about serving Teyana—serving her vision, her spirit, her artistry,” Pierre said to the audience. “She is truly one of one.” His remarks underscored the admiration he holds for Taylor, who oversaw the project both behind and in front of the camera.

Released in August 2025, “Escape Room” merges film and music while exploring themes of heartbreak, trauma, and healing. Directed and produced by Taylor, the project stars Pierre alongside LaKeith Stanfield, highlighting Taylor’s growing reputation as a filmmaker unafraid of taking risks.

The work was produced through Taylor’s all-women collective, The Aunties. It features musical contributions from Jill Scott, Tyla, Lucky Daye, and Kaytranada, as well as narration from Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, and Sarah Paulson.

For Pierre, the project extended beyond acting. He shared that Taylor’s vision pushed him to examine his own emotions, making the experience deeply personal. He also addressed the challenges of working under the direction of someone he is romantically linked to.

Pierre and Taylor confirmed their relationship in June 2025 after months of speculation. The two were first linked publicly at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala in February and later at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in March.

During the panel, Pierre joked about Taylor balancing her roles as both director and partner. “I was just trying to listen to the director,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience. “I didn’t want to get cussed out.”

Their chemistry, both on and off screen, has become a central talking point of “Escape Room,” adding another layer of intrigue to the project. The film not only highlights Taylor’s bold creative approach but also reflects the collaborative spirit she and Pierre bring to their partnership.

The project now stands as both an artistic statement and a testament to resilience, intimacy, and innovation.
