South Carolina rapper Blacc Zacc, known legally as Zachary Chapman, is facing federal prosecution after his arrest Tuesday on charges including RICO conspiracy and murder in aid of racketeering.

According to court filings, the 34-year-old Columbia native was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and booked into the Spartanburg County Jail. A detention hearing is scheduled for Monday in Greenville, where federal prosecutors are expected to argue he should remain in custody pending trial.

Prosecutors allege Chapman led Dirty Money Entertainment, or DME, a criminal enterprise accused of orchestrating violent and financially motivated crimes across South Carolina. The 22-page indictment claims Chapman directed DME’s operations, maintained properties used for illegal activity, and approved acts of violence against rival groups.

One of the most serious allegations ties Chapman to a 2021 murder-for-hire plot in Columbia. Investigators say the scheme arose from a dispute over a stolen diamond chain and ended in a retaliatory killing allegedly ordered by Chapman.

Chapman pleaded not guilty during his initial court appearance. He faces eight federal counts, including RICO conspiracy, attempted murder in aid of racketeering, multiple firearms offenses, and use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has emphasized the scope of the case, citing the indictment as part of a broader effort to dismantle violent organizations in the Southeast.

Chapman’s arrest has also drawn public attention due to his high-profile relationship with fellow rapper and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member Renni Rucci. The pair have been prominent figures in the Southern hip-hop scene, often portraying a lifestyle of wealth and influence that now contrasts sharply with the allegations facing Chapman.

Rucci, who has not been charged or implicated in the case, has yet to publicly comment on her partner’s arrest. The case against Chapman underscores the ongoing federal scrutiny of alleged gang-related activity within the music industry, a trend that has intensified in recent years.
