Aubrey O’Day is setting the record straight after fans raised concerns about her health following the release of the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

In a December 14 post on X, formerly Twitter, the singer addressed speculation that she was hospitalized after watching the film, offering clarity on what really happened and how she’s doing now. O’Day has been one of the most vocal celebrities about Diddy’s past misdeeds ahead of the four-episode documentary.

“To clarify, my illness made me ill.. but rewatching details of my life play out in front of the world from outside of just my limited lens, and with more context, has def been overwhelming and created a lot of pressure in this current moment,” O’Day wrote. “It took me all of a day, and a trip to the ER, to be back on tour. Thank you to those who showed sincere support. 🫶🏼”

O’Day’s message follows reports that she had been hospitalized. The singer was released on December 12, according to TMZ.

The emotional weight of the documentary had sent her to the emergency room. Her wording draws an important distinction. By saying “my illness made me ill,” she makes clear that a preexisting health issue, not the documentary itself, was the direct cause of her hospital visit.

At the same time, O’Day didn’t downplay the emotional toll of seeing her past unfold onscreen. She acknowledged that revisiting moments from her life “with more context” and in front of a global audience was “overwhelming,” especially given the renewed attention surrounding her experiences.

The message was a balance of honesty and strength. O’Day remains focused on her health, her career, and moving forward.
